Advisory Services

Three Practice Areas.
One Independent Standard.

Renew/Well operates across three distinct but connected environments: infrastructure oversight, commercial market access, and infrastructure development. Each requires the same core capabilities — independent analysis, stakeholder coordination, technically defensible reporting, and disciplined execution.

Municipal Utility Reliability Assessment

Independent assessment of investor-owned utility reliability for Texas municipalities — outage patterns, infrastructure conditions, and regulatory benchmarks, documented so city leadership is not dependent on the utility's own reporting.

Typically relevant for

City managers, public works directors, councils, and municipal legal teams in communities served by investor-owned utilities.

Primary outcome

Objective, documented findings leadership can act on and communicate publicly with confidence.

Explore the Practice

Commercial Strategy & Market Development

Strategic commercial development for technically complex products and services in energy, utility, and industrial markets — where sales cycles are long, buyers are specialized, and generic lead generation does not work.

Typically relevant for

Energy technology, environmental services, and industrial companies entering or expanding in south-central U.S. markets.

Primary outcome

Qualified access to the right buyers, associations, and channels — with pipeline reporting executives can act on.

Explore the Practice

Cross-Border Infrastructure

Commercial development of private US-Mexico cross-border transloading infrastructure with dedicated bridge access — freight transloading active today, with Phase 2 rail fuel transport in development.

Typically relevant for

Logistics operators, fuel distributors, commodity shippers, infrastructure investors, and strategic partners.

Primary outcome

Controlled cross-border capacity and structured commercial partnership opportunities.

Why Renew/Well

Built for Decisions,
Not Just Reports.

Renew/Well works at the intersection of infrastructure, operations, and commercial strategy. Engagements are structured around long-term relationships rather than transactional outcomes — which is what allows the firm to evaluate situations objectively, navigate complex stakeholder environments, and stand behind its findings in public settings.

See How We Work

Structural Independence

In each practice area, Renew/Well does not maintain concurrent commercial relationships with parties whose interests are adverse to the client's — utilities in municipal engagements, competing vendors in market development, competing investors in infrastructure work. This is an operating requirement, not a slogan.

Sector-Specific Experience

Infrastructure, energy, utility, environmental, and industrial markets — including applied research in emissions-detection technology, energy-transition investment analysis, and hands-on commercial execution.

Decision-Ready Deliverables

Every engagement produces written outputs built for use: scorecards, risk registers, decision briefs, action plans, and board briefings. Preview the formats.

South-Central Market Coverage

Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and New Mexico — including municipal utility associations, regulatory forums, energy market channels, and cross-border commercial networks.

Operational Perspective

Analysis is built to support action. Direct participation in cross-border infrastructure development and field-level technical work keeps the firm's advice grounded in how operations actually run.

Our Advisory Method

Assess. Verify. Prioritize. Monitor.

Every engagement follows the same disciplined sequence — from first conversation through ongoing accountability.

01

Assess

Build a complete picture of conditions, records, plans, and stakeholder concerns.

02

Verify

Test findings against evidence — records, field conditions, and professional review where required.

03

Prioritize

Rank risks, sequence capital needs, assign accountability, and frame decisions.

04

Monitor

Keep recommendations and corrective actions visible until they are done.

Ryan Knese

Founder & Managing Director

Ryan founded Renew/Well to provide the objective, unconflicted counsel that complex infrastructure and commercial decisions require. His background spans infrastructure and energy-market advisory, commercial development, applied technical research, and energy-transition investment analysis — including investment due diligence and financial modeling, contribution to the development of an ammonia-based LDAR camera, and hands-on business development across oil and gas, utility, and environmental services markets.
